A train carrying passengers on a United Airlines flight from Chicago to Atlanta had a large American flag painted on it when it arrived at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
According to local news station WSBTV, passengers were alerted to the unusual display when they boarded the train, which was traveling from Chicago’s Midway Airport to Atlanta’s Terminal 2.
“I thought, ‘Oh my God, that’s an American train,'” said passenger Ashley Filippi.
“It was really strange.”
Passengers said they were shocked when they spotted the train’s American flag and noticed the word “Welcome” in white letters on the roof of the train.
Passengers say they weren’t given any warning that the train had been flagged as a potential threat, but the flag was a sign of the nation’s desire to welcome foreign visitors.
“That’s the American way,” passenger Kia Mathers said.
“The way that they just came here, and it was a great feeling to be welcomed here.
I’m happy that it was our first trip on this train, so I’m going to say welcome to the United States.”
Atlanta’s HARTFORD-JACKSON TAPES ARE NOW AVAILABLE to U.S. Citizens.
